07:00 PM ET: Connecticut Sun vs New York Liberty: Just one spot remains for the Playoffs and the battle is tight between Mystics, Liberty, and Sparks. Liberty and Sparks are tied with a record of 11-19 while Mystics is in a slightly better position right now with a record of 12-18. This is the worst time for New York to run into a Connecticut Sun team that is on a twelve-game winning streak and has the best record at 24-6. The Liberty is going to face a stiff challenge from a team that allows the least points per game at just 70.1. The Liberty plays at the second-quickest pace at 80.6 but still has the third-worst points per game average at 78.4. To make the matters worse, the Liberty allows the most points per game squandering away 85.3 PPG, so this is a meeting between a team that allows the least points and a team that allows the most points, how contrasting!
Liberty’s offense has suffered mainly because of the inefficiency by Sabrina Ionescu who has averaged just 11.4 PPG and has shot only 37% from the floor and 31.4 % from the three-point line. Although she has shown that she can be a sturdy rebounder and playmaker, Sabrina has just not been consistent on offense. Meanwhile, for the Sun, even though the team plays at the slowest pace in the league, Connecticut has a scary frontline of Bonner-Jonquel-Brionna that can seal off inside positions while Jonquel and Bonner can also light it from distance. The Liberty has got tremendous production from Betnijah Laney and Natasha Howard has looked in great touch but Sabrina needs to play her heart out now and believe her team can beat a red-hot Connecticut Sun.
