To begin the festivities, Swedish Rebecca Peterson squares off against Ukraine’s Lesia Tsurenko. Peterson stormed in the top eight after a 6-0, 6-3 win over Romanian Irina Bara while Lesia Tsurenko beat Russian Anastasia Gasanova 6-2, 7-5 in the Round of 16.
In the next match, Ukraine’s Anhelina Kalinina takes on Estonian Anett Kontaveit. The Ukrainian comes into the game after beating the German Anna-Lena Friedsam 6-2, 6-2. On the other hand, Anett Kontaveit triumphed against Belgium’s Alison Van Uytvanck 6-3, 6-4.
In the second-last battle of the day, an inter-Romania battle between Simona Halep and Jaqueline Cristian will take place. Halep clinched a 6-4, 6-2 win over Russian Varvara Grachenva and Cristian had to grind out a 7-6, 7-5 against the feisty Australian Ajla Tomljanovic.
To round off the day, British Emma Raducanu will fight it out versus Ukraine’s Marta Kostyuk. Emma comes into the game after a 6-3, 6-4 win over Romanian Ana Bogdan. Marta Kostyuk took care of business against Germany’s Mona Barthel 6-4, 6-4. The schedule for the day is given below:
