Muguruza lost to Karolina Pliskova in the first game but then she showed her game for three straight victories. First, she beat Barbora Krejcikova in three sets then she beat Anett Kontaveit to reach the Semis. Afterward, she bagged the game against Paula Badosa to make it to the Finals.

Anett Kontaveit has won her last 13 of the 14 games and they have been some of the toughest opponents. Incidentally, the only loss she suffered was against Muguruza in the tournament.
