Transylvania Open: Peterson, Kostyuk advance, Raducanu takes first set

Rebecca Peterson beat Irina Bara 6-0, 6-3 to make it to the Quarterfinals. Peterson outplayed the Romanian in all departments. She registered a 25-13 advantage on receiving points, cracked open the service points game by a 36-26 lead, and won four out of ten tiebreakers. Peterson will face Lesia Tsurenko in the Quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, Marta Kostyuk overcame Mona Barthel 6-4, 6-4. Barthel committed 7 double faults while Kostyuk only had one. Kostyuk held a 27-20 receiving points advantage and outmatched Mona 37-31 in terms of service points.

Emma Raducanu claimed the first set 6-3 versus Ana Bogdan. At the time of writing the news, she is up 5-4 in the second set. In the later games, Simona Halep will take on Varvara Gracheva while Alison Van Uytvanck will face Anett Kontaveit.
