Tunisian Ons Jabeur and Spanish Garbine Muguruza both reached the Chicago Falls Tennis finals in anti-climatic fashion. First, Jabeur played against Elena Rybakina and took the first set 6-4 after claiming a hat-trick of break-point. In the second set, she held a 3-2 edge before Elena decided to withdraw due to an illness. After the victory, Ons grabbed her 44th win of the WTA tour; most by any player this season.
Meanwhile, Garbine Muguruza didn’t even get a single go in her Semis and got a walkover win as Marketa Vondrousova withdrew from the game due to a gastrointestinal issue. Now, Ons Jabeur and Garbine Muguruza will clash in the Finals @ 01:00 PM ET.
