NFL shortlists three German cities to host regular-season games

American football league NFL has come up with names of three German cities to host a regular-season game. Munich, Frankfurt, and Dusseldorf have come up as the candidates for the hosting, and among them, only one city will be given the chance to feature an NFL regular season fixture. NFL has consistently held regular-season in London and Mexico City, so a German City can add up to the NFL calendar.

Brett Gosper, NFL’s UK and Europe Head
Regular-season games are a key part of continuing the development of our German fanbase. We want this to be a long-term partnership. The strong interest we have received from German cities underlines what a fantastic opportunity this is. As well as identifying a stadium that is fully capable of handling the logistics of an NFL game, we want to work with a host consortium that comprises local and regional government, stadium ownership, local stakeholders, and potential commercial partners.
