Garbine Muguruza claims Chicago Falls title

Spanish Garbine Muguruza came from behind to claim the Chicago Falls title after beating Tunisian Ons Jabeur. She got down 3-6 in the first set but roared back to win 3-6, 6-3, 6-0 in a clinical fashion. Muguruza edged out Ons 36 to 29 in receiving points and won six out of eight breakpoints, compared to three out of five by Jabeur. Garbine heavily outplayed Ons in the second serve win%, clasping 62% compared to 24% by Ons.

Muguruza got two games via walkover wins, first in Round of 16 when Victoria Azarenka couldn’t play and then in the Semi-Finals, Marketa Vondrosouva couldn’t play due to illness. However, this doesn’t diminish her accomplishments as she beat the form player in Ons Jabeur. Ons Jabeur has won 44 games this year which is the most for any WTA player this year.
