Anett Kontaveit claims Transylvania Open and clinches WTA Finals spot

Estonian tennis star Anett Kontaveit continued her hot-form and clinched the Transylvania Open title beating former number-one Romanian Simona Halep 6-2, 6-3. This win also brought her a spot in the WTA Finals that will start from 10 November in Guadalajara, Mexico. This is Anett’s second title in a row after the Kremlin Cup and she has now won 10 WTA games in a row.

In the game against Simona Halep, Kontaveit dominated the win% on the first serve with 73%. She edged out the Romanian 32-27 in terms of service points and also bagged a 32-19 receiving points edge. Kontaveit clinched five out of 11 tiebreakers while grabbing two out of three tiebreakers. This win also meant that Anett now has four titles in the year and enters as one of the favorites to win it all during the WTA Finals.
