Molly McCann has opened about her aversion towards UFC fighting after losing to Lara Procopio in February last year. The loss against Lara brought two defeats in a row for McCann which meant that she would have to win her next fight against her next opponent and she came through when she beat Ji Yeon Kim recently. This also marked the first time McCann won a fight since October 2019.
McCann had the following to say: “I had a wobbly. I had to sit back and think how could I be from this working class city where everyone struggles, every day and just because my adversity is a bit greater than others, am I just going to throw the towel in? You're not taught how to deal with it and there's no one really there to help. There's aftercare for the body being broke but not for the mind being broke. It's literally took me three years to overcome that.”
