Kim Clijsters lost to Katerina Siniakova 1-6, 6-2, 2-6 on her comeback to the WTA scene after months. The veteran looked rusty, committing a lethal nine double faults but Katerina’s eight double faults evened out the disadvantage. The service points made a huge difference as Siniakova edged out the Belgian 46-36 in that department. Katerina will now meet Angelique Kerber in the Round of 64.

In a close game, Martina Trevisan and Marie Bouzkova got the best out of each other with Trevisan winning 6-4, 6-7, 6-4. The second set tie-breaker battle turned out to be grueling as Bouzkova got the 10-8 tiebreaker. At the time of writing the news, Alison Riske is up five-two in the first set versus En-Shou Lieng while Ajla Tomljanovic is up three-nil in the first set against Usue Maitane Arconada.
