After Sha’Carri Richardson got banned from participating in the Tokyo Olympics due to a positive marijuana test, the World Anti-Doping Agency is willing to reconsider the rules associated with cannabis. However, the rules are only going to change after the agency will conduct a scientific review that is going to begin next year, and till 2022 cannabis is going to remain prohibited. Sha’Carri tested positive for cannabis use after Olympics qualifications in Oregon and claimed she used marijuana to cope with the death of her mother. USA Track and Field along with the World Anti-Doping Agency regretted her suspension from the Olympics but cited the rules.
