North America-based National Hockey League(NHL) has announced a suspension of 21 games for San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane. As per sources, Kane submitted a forged vaccination card to the league to escape the restrictions on unvaccinated players.

The league said that Evander’s actions violate the protocols set by the league regarding vaccination, while it is not mandatory to get vaccinated, unvaccinated players face more restrictions compared to the vaccinated ones. Evander is also not going to receive his salary for the 21 games he will miss and the money will flow into the Players Emergency Fund.

I would like to apologize to my teammates, the San Jose Sharks organization, and all Sharks fans for violating the NHL COVID protocols. I made a mistake, one I sincerely regret and take responsibility for. During my suspension, I will continue to participate in counseling to help me make better decisions in the future. When my suspension is over, I plan to return to the ice with great effort, determination, and love for the game of hockey
