New Jersey Devils overcame the Chicago Blackhawks four-three in an OT affair. The Blackhawks took a one-nil lead in the first period scoring one just 17 seconds into the game. Dougie Hamilton scored the first goal for the Blackhawks, receiving the pass from Pavel Zacha.
In the second period, Alex DeBrincat scored a powerplay goal, assisted by Patrick Kane and Tyler Johnson. Jack Hughes nailed the second goal and gave the Blackhawks a two-one lead. In the third period, Blackhawks took a three-one lead when Andreas Johnson scored one. However, another power-play goal by the Blackhawks with around four minutes cut the deficit to one goal.
Then Dominik Kubalik tied the game in dramatic fashion with just 26 seconds left on the clock. In the Overtime, Jack Hughes came into the picture again and nailed his second goal, giving the Devils a 4-3 lead. The Blackhawks couldn’t find an opening again and the Devils escaped with a win.
