A strong second-half performance resulted in a 125-113 Charlotte Hornets win over Portland Trailblazers. Charlotte’s LaMelo Ball bounced back after a couple of horrid shooting nights and led all scorers with 27 points. Meanwhile, a strong 25 points outing by Portland guard CJ McCollum went in vain.

Oubre sizzles off the bench!

Kelly Oubre also made huge contributions in the Sixth Player role. The athletic compiled 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists off the bench and showed once again that he is ready for a big season. Forward PJ Washington also chipped in with 17 points meanwhile young Miles Bridges continued his superb early season form with 19 points and 9 assists. With the win, the Hornets are now holding a 5-2 record.

Damian’s offensive issues

Damian Lillard is one of the best scoring guards to play the game and has averaged as much as 30 PPG. However, in this loss, he shot a mere 5/20 and for the season, he is shooting a paltry 37.1% from the field and a measly 26.2%. Portland needs him to bounce quickly because he is the heart of this team. Right now the team is 3-3 but a player of Dame’s stature can bring the mojo back sooner than later.
