Lerone Murphy who will be in action against Makwan Amirkhani this weekend during the UFC 267 fight has opened up about his road to recovery ever since getting shot. In May 2013, when Lerone took a trip to the barbers, he got shot in the mouth three times and had to literally spit out some bullets. The featherweight competitor survived despite such a grave injury and earned the nickname “The Miracle”.

Lerone Murphy Featherweight fighter, UFC
My mouth felt heavy and I thought it was blood or something, but then I could see the bullets on the floor. was just not really doing anything with my life. I had no direction, no goals. I was just living day by day. The gym was my getaway. I felt like that was the only place in the world where I didn't think about past traumas or anything else. I'm not scared or fearful to go out or anything, but it does come into my mind and probably does change my mood.
