FIBA Women's AfroBasket: Senegal thumps Guinea

Senegal didn’t have to break much sweat versus Guinea as the squad won 100-31. However, the result is barely a surprise since Senegal has beaten them by almost similar numbers in previous editions too. Guinea only scored ten points in the first quarter and completely faltered on both ends of the floor in the rest of the game.

Guinea committed 40 turnovers, got outrebounded 56-27, shot just 16.67%, and the only area where they edged Senegal turned out to be the free-throw line, where the team shot 15/19 compared to 14/28 by Senegal. For Senegal, Yacine Diop top-scored with 19 points while Oumoul Khairy Sarr had the game-high nine rebounds. Masseny Kaba top-scored with eight points for Guinea, six of them from the free-throw line. The scoreline reflects the gap between the two teams clearly.
